The highs and lows of our beloved sport!

A very sad outcome for Aussie eventers, Shanghai Joe and Shane Rose were making their way around the very imposing track and sustained a fall at fence 19B the Corral.  The fall was a reasonable soft departure for Shane but “Nugget” panicked and bolted back to the stables and in so doing fell as he passed through the archway.

We are all devastated for Shane, Niki and the team from Bimbadeen, “Nugget” was a home breed gelding and was just dipping his toe into the International eventing arena.

The fairytale win for Andrew Nicholson and Nereo will be long remembered. Andrew was quoted as saying “The feeling is unbelievable – have been waiting so long for it. When I was young, I thought it would be easy to win Badminton, but I soon found out it was very difficult” Let alone his amazing recovery from a horrific fall.
